What about your friends?

March 19th, 2011 | Posted by Karah in Thoughts & Opinions - (11 Comments)

So, let’s write a little post about friendship. Everybody has a friend in some shape, form or fashion. Whether it’s a best friend that you’ve known since you were a baby, someone you met in high school, or someone you met on Twitter – everybody has at least one.

I’ve had several in my life, starting with my cousins when I was little all the way up to recently, becoming friends with people like Yolanda, Sophia and Kristy (my fanfic hero). For the most part, I’ve never had that one best friend that’s always been there. I’ve had several great friends that I’ve known since I was little and I still talk to today, whether it’s my favorite cousin or someone I met in kindergarten. Its the people that you’ll always be friends with, regardless. (more…)

Today was a fairytale…

On the way to and from work today, I listened to Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” album, which I love so much. It’s probably my favorite album of the past few years. I love very song on there, from start to finish.

I want to thank everybody for the feedback for “The Right Kind of Wrong.” I’m trying to fix the “next” and “previous” links on the stories, but it’s hard to get them to work right. Would just linking the story’s main page be helpful? I’m just trying to think of possible ways for you guys to navigate better and something that could be done. (more…)

Nine is better than one?

Hey everybody! Sorry for being MIA over the weekend. I was incredibly busy with work and with playing with my new DSLR camera. Right now I’m waiting on the news to come on because they covered something they I covered over the weekend for the business (the paranormal group here in town). (more…)

Might be paranoid…

The Jonas Brothers song is certainly sounding like me today. I’ve got an extreme case of paranoia today for several reasons.

1. So everybody in my graduating class is on Facebook except this one guy that I had a crush on. Last night I saw this his mom had a Facebook page and so I’m debating on sending her a message to say hi (my mom knows her) and find out how said former crush is doing. Who am I kidding. I saw a picture of him in her Facebook pictures. He’s still hot to me. But I’m paranoid she’s going to think I’m a freak, thus tell him (who I was friends with in middle/high school) and he’ll think I’m a freak. (more…)

Yes, it’s been MONTHS since I updated and I do apologize for that. The past year has been crazy… and I mean crazy. My life has drastically changed since the last time I updated the site.

To catch you up… I’ve become an award winning journalist, graduated college, won some more awards, and now have a real full time job at a newspaper.  I also have a side job being a concert photographer and designing t-shirts. I’m debating on starting grad school but have to take the GRE first. If I do, it won’t be full time and will be a class or two a semester and that won’t be this fall.

However, I’ve been thinking a lot about writing again lately, fiction wise.  I would love to finish “Long Trip Alone” so I think on my days off this week I’m going to re-read what I’ve already written.

So what do ya’ll think? Want me to finish the story or am I wasting my time?

First off, I want to say that I am so sorry for the non-existent updates around here.

Life has been kind of hectic this summer with the move to the new building, a new job, a higher posistion at another job, surgery, and most of all, finally taking Algebra. I’m sorry, I just suck at math so I had to give it my all.

But guess what? I passed! I found out from my professor Thursday that I passed. Granted, I made a ‘D’ but D’s get degrees. LMAO! That’s only the first D that I’ve made since I started this university.

Anyway, yesterday was my first ‘official’ day as Editor-in-Chief. My friend and co-worker is the new Manager at the radio station so we are taking over the media side of the school. I have two weeks before class starts and this writer block has got to go. Why?

Most of my classes are journalism related…. meaning writing!

So in this two weeks while preparing for the first issue of the newspaper that comes out the first day of class, I’m going to try and write some on “Long Trip Alone.” I admit that I’m just not feeling the BSB love, but I love this story and I want it to be good and I want to finish it.

Oh and I love the Jonas Brothers. Random, I know, but I’ve told myself I will not get into another boyband like I did with BSB… nope… but their music rocks. I can’t wait for their new CD to come out. Hopefully I can get an advance copy like I did of Miley’s :)

LOVE HAVING CONNECTIONS!

Just wanted you all to know that I’m still alive… still kicking! I might make a new header and stuff for the site :)
